We build our lamps to handle 110V, 480V, and 575V. Here’s the thing: this isn’t just about making sure the plug fits. It’s about how the electricity moves through that tungsten filament. When you move up to 480V or 575V, you can hit your wattage goals with lower amperage. That’s a win for your wiring. It means less load and the ability to use thinner leads. Plus, if you’re running a massive array of heaters, higher voltage stops those annoying voltage drops that happen over long cable runs. Just a heads-up, though—higher voltage puts more stress on the lamp ends. Make sure your insulation can handle the peak load, or you’re asking for trouble.
Getting the fit right
