What matters, technically
Halogen infrared heaters run on a quartz tube filled with halogen gas and a high-resistance filament, producing short-wave infrared radiation. The heat is radiant—traveling at light speed to warm people and surfaces first, not the air. In practice, you feel it within seconds of flipping the switch, because the unit delivers focused infrared energy with minimal warm-up. The CE marking means it meets European safety and emissions requirements, including protection against electric shock and overheating. Many models also include tip-over protection and an overheat cut-off, and some are rated IPX4 for splash resistance—handy in a damp bathroom.
Why it fits a bathroom
A bathroom is small, humid, and used in short bursts. That makes speed and targeted warmth more valuable than trying to heat the whole room. With halogen infrared, it’s basically “turn it on, feel it now.” You step out of the shower onto a warmer floor, towel off without shivering, and feel the chill back off fast. Things to keep straight
Installation matters. Use a dedicated outlet and follow the hardwiring or plug-in instructions. Mount the heater in a dry spot, away from direct water spray—even if the unit is splash-resistant. Check local codes for bathroom electrical work, and keep clearances to towels and curtains. Halogen infrared delivers fast warmth, but if you need to raise the overall room temperature for longer stretches, pair it with a warm floor or a secondary air heater.
